About This Waiver
This waiver applies to all grooming services provided by Dogs Only Grooming Pty Ltd ("Dogs Only"). By booking an appointment, you confirm that you are the owner or authorised representative of the dog named at booking and that you agree to the terms set out below.
We have made this document as clear and plain as we can. Please read it before your appointment.
1. Your Dog's HealtH
I confirm that:
My dog is in good general health and fit to receive grooming services at the time of each appointment.
My dog is up to date with core vaccinations, and currently treated for fleas and ticks.
I have disclosed all known health conditions, injuries, skin conditions, allergies, or ongoing treatments to Dogs Only prior to the appointment.
I have disclosed any behavioural traits relevant to grooming — including but not limited to anxiety, aversion to handling, or any history of aggression toward people or other animals.
I understand that withholding relevant information may place my dog, Dogs Only staff, or other animals at risk, and that Dogs Only is not liable for any adverse outcomes arising from non-disclosure.
2. Inherent Risks of Grooming
I acknowledge that grooming involves physical handling and that some risk is inherent in the process, including for dogs who are:
elderly or in poor health
heavily matted
fearful, anxious, or unaccustomed to grooming
recovering from injury or illness
I understand that Dogs Only staff are trained professionals who take all reasonable precautions, and that I accept responsibility for risks that arise from my dog's pre-existing condition, temperament, or undisclosed history.
3. Right to Stop or Modify Services
I acknowledge that Dogs Only may stop, modify, or decline to continue a grooming service at any time if, in the professional judgment of our staff, proceeding would place the dog, staff, or other animals at risk.
Where it is safe and practical to do so, we will contact you before making significant changes to the planned service.
If a service is stopped for welfare or safety reasons, Dogs Only reserves the right to charge for work completed to that point.
4. Matted Coats
I acknowledge that:
Grooming a heavily matted coat may require clipping rather than brushing.
De-matting or clipping may reveal skin conditions, sores, or irritation that existed beneath the coat and were not visible prior to grooming.
Dogs Only is not responsible for pre-existing conditions uncovered during the grooming process.
Where significant matting is present, we will advise you of the recommended approach and associated costs before proceeding.
5. Senior and At-Risk Dogs
I acknowledge that grooming can place additional physical demands on elderly, injured, or medically compromised dogs, including risks associated with standing for extended periods, stress response, or the use of grooming tools.
By booking a senior or at-risk dog, I confirm that I accept these risks and, where Dogs Only has requested it, that I have obtained veterinary clearance prior to the appointment.
6. Emergency Veterinary Care
In the event of a medical emergency during my dog's appointment, I authorise Dogs Only to seek emergency veterinary care on my behalf. I understand that:
Dogs Only will make all reasonable efforts to contact me before doing so.
I am responsible for all veterinary costs incurred.
Dogs Only is not liable for the outcome of veterinary treatment sought in good faith on my behalf.
7. Release of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, and in consideration of Dogs Only providing grooming services, I release Dogs Only Grooming Pty Ltd, its employees, and contractors from any claims, losses, or expenses arising from:
pre-existing health conditions or injuries that are identified or aggravated during grooming
my dog's behaviour, including any injury caused by my dog to staff or other animals
information I failed to disclose prior to the appointment
Nothing in this waiver limits or excludes any rights I may have as a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Ongoing Application
This waiver applies to all future appointments until revoked in writing. If my dog's health, behaviour, or circumstances change materially, I will notify Dogs Only before the next appointment.
